Change has come, but where have you placed your hope?

Photograph Released by CNN.com

At the writing of this post, we are about an hour and a half away from Barack Obama becoming the 44th President of the United States. There have been many hopes and expectations that have been placed on him as he prepares to take office. He is facing an unprecedented amount of responsibility as he prepares to assume the office of the President. It is important for us all to remember that first, we must only put our hope in our Heavenly Father. Second, it is our responsibility to pray for those who are in authority over us. Make sure you do your part and keep our new President and administration uplifted in prayer.

Let's Continue...

Why did God create you? What is your purpose? To answer these questions you have to know that the power to define is the power to fulfill...

My mission in this lesson on discipling others is to Discover, Disciple, and Deploy. Jesus said that it would be better if He goes away, but people have not matured to the point of being able to walk without step by step guidance. So it's not to reduce the church back to the days when Jesus walked along side of it but to make sure that everyone is in proper relationship with God and spiritually mature.

There are many voices in the earth today and it is important to listen to the right voice. You will become like whatever voices you are listening to... You have to allow someone to be your teacher. Ask yourself this, would you go to a new job and tell your supervisor what to do?

I was alarmed to learn the statistic that 60% to 70% of people jump from church to church because of spiritual immaturity! Which is often tied into leaving because of an offense or misunderstanding. Be in your set place! Those who are really great are those that listen really well. You are having issues because you have never allowed yourself to sit under the process/training.

There is so much more that I could share from this second lesson on discipling others however I would encourage you to get the CD or DVD as soon as possible so you don't miss anything dealing with this life changing lesson!

Start Experiencing the Cultural Shift!

This week marked two major moments at Spirit of Faith. First, we started our 9:30am services at our Howard County location. I also began teaching on the lesson of Discipleship. As it has been declared, this is the "Year of Discipling". It has been placed on my heart to initiate a shift in the culture at Spirit of Faith where by we put an emphasis on Jesus' greatest commandment.

The objective of this lesson series on Discipleship is as follows: To create a replica of the early New Testament church in a modern day form without loosing the same impact it had when Jesus walked along side of the church himself.

I am so excited to be sharing this part of the Lords' Word because I know that this is what we were saved to do. I encourage each of you to lock in on this message and concept because it will be sure to take you to another level in the things of God.

What memorable moments have you husbands created for your wife?

Tonight marked the first night of the Communication Labs for 2009 at non other than our Howard County location (Ellicott City, Maryland). It is always encouraging to see the many visitors that travel from all over the country to take the time to invest in their marriage. On this evening one of the topics that we discussed was making memorable moments (especially husbands) for our spouses. These are the moments that are never forgotten and show that you took the time to think about what makes the other person happy. Be sure to pick up the CD from this evening's communication lab, it will be sure to bless you, your life, and your marriage!

The Year of Discipleship Starts Out Right!!!

The stage was set, the people were present locally and all over the world via live feed from The Word Network, and the party began!!! Before the performance even started, the atmosphere was already filled with praise and expectation. Once Fred took to the stage, the level of worship went to the next level and it was the perfect way to start the new year. The best part of the entire evening was watching people make decisions to make Jesus Christ the Lord of their lives just seconds before midnight!!!!
